Android Marshmallow is Android 6.0

by Hashtag Daily TrendsAugust 17, 2015

Along with the official street name of Android Marshmallow, it was revealed on Monday that Google’s newest update will be Android 6.0. The most recent version of Android is 5.1.1.

The latest Developer Preview 3, as detailed by Jamal Eason, Product Manager of Android, is already available to download for the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. Eason said that compared to the previous developer preview updates, the final API update is incremental in nature.

That doesn’t mean we won’t find some new stuff to play around with in the latest update. Developer Preview 3 should be pretty close to what consumers get their hands on this fall, which means we might finally get to play around with Now on Tap. Beyond that, it’ll just be nice to get a taste of Android Marshmallow in its almost-finished state.

How does Android 6.0 sound? It seems like we barely got to know Android 5.0, and we’re already moving on. Get used to it!
